TL;DR: We expected a call about review cycles. What we got was a client with 20 years of experience telling us what Concurate clients don’t always say out loud. We sent his words to our team, and now we’re sharing them with you.

There’s a certain comfort in walking into an industry you already know. At Concurate, we’ve felt that comfort for a while with legal tech, fintech, and regtech companies. So, when we onboarded a client in the agentic AI orchestration and governance space, it looked like familiar ground. They were a B2B fintech and regtech company, right in our wheelhouse. But we knew better than to get comfortable.

Agentic AI is evolving at breakneck speed. The map gets redrawn every few weeks, and last month’s knowledge might already need an update. We knew this partnership would come with a real learning curve. Which brings us to yesterday, two months into working together.

The client had set up a call to talk about slowing down the pace of content work. (Not exactly the conversation you hope for two months into a new partnership.) But somewhere along the way, the conversation took a turn.

We knew our whole team needed to hear what he’d said, so we wrote to them. Now, we’re sharing it with you.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s actually like to work with Concurate, this email answers it better than we ever could.

Hi Concurator!

Today’s call with the [redacted] team was supposed to be about shortening the review cycle. But somewhere in the middle, it turned into a conversation we want all of you to hear.

So we have pulled out the best bits below, verbatim (Here is the full transcript in case you want the whole thing)

Client’s Compliments (Yes, Plural!)

The client has 20 years of experience, and here is how he described the way we work.

“You guys spend good amount of time in understanding a problem statement and then bring the solution forward…….that is not something I have seen in my 20 years of experience with any agency.”

Aditi’s reply in the moment? “Ohh, that’s a big thing.” (And honestly, it is.)

Me behind the camera:

Movie still meme of two men: one in a denim jacket looks on while the other, in glasses and a suit, dabs his teary face with a tissue. Caption: “Itni Khushi Mujhe Aajtak Nahi Hui” (I have never been this happy)

He also noticed something we care deeply about. In his experience, search-optimized content usually loses quality along the way. With Concurate, it doesn’t.

“…generally in most of our experience, we have seen especially AEO, SEO content always loses its quality because you just need to boost stuff… But I think that’s not the case here. Quality is definitely… has been a supreme from you guys.”

Then came an honest confession.

“…if you ask me, I wanted to actually build this team internally… Because I’ve seen how agencies have done in the past with working with other companies. But there isn’t any comparison with what you guys are bringing to the table and what those guys used to bring.”

And for him, it goes beyond the final piece we hand over. It is about how we work through the whole process.

“…which we are seeing in the way you guys work through the entire process. It’s not just about the content, what you prepare.”

The Client Gets How SEO Works

This part made us visibly happy. He did a lot of SEO work in his earlier years, so he knows results don’t show up overnight.

“It’s not something that, you know, it will immediately give you mileage. It takes its own sweet time, right?”

He also knows what smaller players can do. He spent years at large IT services companies before moving to a much smaller one.

“I’ve seen the way smaller companies make a difference in the way they operate, which bigger players cannot.”

Where The Client Wants to Take Them

AEO is a priority that came straight from their leadership, and that is why they brought us in.

“The point of AEO being becoming a big viral topic was right from the leadership. And that’s why we went ahead to go with you guys, okay? And they are seeing value.”

His long-term goal is to rank organically and spend less on paid ads.

“…this brings traffic free of cost… And when I say traffic, also, like the conversion traffic as well…..my future aim is to reduce my spend over paid ads.”

Now, Back to the Slowdown

Their reviewers have been pulled into urgent priorities from leadership. We went in with a few actionable fixes. The big one: Their reviewers check only the core thesis, not the whole outline or draft line by line.

(Here is the Loom video where Aditi explained the core thesis)

We also suggested a list of non-negotiables, like product positioning, to sort out the review problem while they are busy. The client’s reaction?

“Thanks for bringing up these proactive solutions in the 1st place.”

He also wants a clear list of do’s and don’ts to work with going forward.

What Working With Them Has Taught Us

Here’s something we have come to really appreciate about this client. They know how much effort it takes to produce high-quality content, and that effort comes from both parties.

While they acknowledged ours, I want to acknowledge theirs.

Every Thursday at 6 p.m. IST, their team shows up to discuss the work with us. Aditi joins most days, and on days she can’t, I keep the conversation going. Either way, they have always made us feel like a partner they trust. And that is extremely rare in a client.

Their product sits in a domain that keeps evolving, and they know it. We know it too. An evolving product needs an evolving knowledge base, so we keep doing everything we can to improve ours.

Honestly, the delayed reviews had us a little sad, because we really want these pieces to go live. But we came out of today’s call feeling fulfilled, knowing we work with a client who understands what content needs to do.

So, Here’s What Subhasri Thinks

Everything he said about us today reflects what we all do in our day-to-day work. I am sharing this especially for those who have recently joined us, so you know the standards we have always followed.

Use these insights wherever you can. His appreciation is worth bringing up in any prospect call. It also belongs in any article you write about Concurate, or anything you share about us on LinkedIn.

Just keep the client anonymous wherever these lines go.

This should give you the confidence to know you are in the right place, doing the right thing, for the right people.

Meme of three men in office wear with hands on their hearts and medals around their necks, captioned “Teamwork makes the dreamwork”. What do Concurate clients say about them? That great content takes effort from both sides.

Why We’re Sharing This

We’re sharing this email because the idea behind it goes well beyond one client call.

When a company is choosing a reliable content marketing agency, they don’t just want articles. They want to know you’ll take the time to understand their problem first. They want to know quality won’t slip just because the content has to rank. And they want to know you’ll show up with solutions when things get stuck.

That’s what we try to do every day, so it felt good to hear it noticed. (Okay, more than good. We’re still smiling about it.)

P.S. They hired us to get their new B2B SaaS product recommended in Gen-AI tools. If you also want to improve your AI visibility, download the free 13-point checklist below!
