ElevenLabs Keyword Analysis: Inside Commercial and Transactional Searches

Most people discover ElevenLabs organically. My discovery came during a frantic search for AI voice generation tools to feature in a listicle.

A competitor company had challenged us to rank an “ElevenLabs Alternative” article on the first page of Google. To do it right, I signed up for more than 15 AI voice generation tools, ElevenLabs included.

The tool wasn’t perfect, but the AI voice cloning outputs were way too realistic and emotionally nuanced.

However, what really made my jaw drop was their organic visibility.

As a content strategist and SEO professional, I had to know how they were pulling this off. I then analyzed their keyword data from Ahrefs, focusing on keywords with commercial and transactional intent and wrote this analysis.

The article unpacks what I found and the lessons other SaaS companies can steal from this ElevenLabs keyword analysis.

Methodology: How I Broke Down ElevenLabs Keywords

I pulled ElevenLabs’ keyword data straight from Ahrefs. However, the sheer volume was overwhelming. We are talking about 85.3K keywords. More than enough to drown any sane marketer in spreadsheets. 

So I narrowed my focus to commercial and transactional intent keywords. That still gave me a big pool to work with, but it made the ElevenLabs keyword analysis more meaningful.

From there, I broke everything down into two buckets:

  1. Branded keywords: Searches where ElevenLabs is mentioned by name.
  2. Non-branded keywords: Generic searches where their name doesn’t appear.

This split showed me exactly how much of ElevenLabs’ organic visibility comes from defending its brand vs capturing new demand.

And what I found made me a fan of their content team.

How ElevenLabs Owns Branded Searches Organically

Below are the strategies I identified by studying commercial and transactional intent keywords that included brand names.

#1 Owning Pricing Searches (+ Competitor Keywords)

While ElevenLabs ranks for “elevenlabs pricing” with its dedicated pricing page, it also cleverly captures traffic from competitor pricing searches.

ElevenLabs doesn’t just show up for its own API pricing terms. It also shows up for queries around other tools’ APIs, encouraging developer adoption and enterprise integrations.

Most SaaS companies leave “alternatives” keywords wide open for competitors. ElevenLabs doesn’t make that mistake. They’ve built dedicated “top” and “best” listicles around these searches. They even have an ElevenLabs Alternative piece.

Miscellaneous Branded Findings That Made Me Say WOW!

While the earlier observations in this ElevenLabs keyword analysis came from a strategic point of view, here are a few miscellaneous findings that left me impressed.

  1. Ranking for Misspelt Variants: Not everyone types it right. I use “11labs” in my rough notes. To my surprise, ElevenLabs ranks for misspellings like “11labs,” “11lab,” “11laps,” and even “eleven labs.” Its domain authority is strong enough that Google understands when someone types these misspellings, they really mean ElevenLabs.

  1. Much Higher CPC on Branded Keywords: The average CPC for non-branded queries sits at $0.94, while branded queries spike to $1.66. In other words, competitors are actively bidding on ElevenLabs’ branded terms to capture high-intent traffic. However, since ElevenLabs already dominates these queries organically, it secures clicks without ad spend, making it even harder for competitors to break in.

This is how ElevenLabs protects and grows demand around its own name (and competitors).

But branded queries are only half the story. The real magic comes from non-branded searches where buyers aren’t searching for ElevenLabs specifically, but for solutions like AI voice over or AI voice changer.

This is where ElevenLabs attracts massive audiences and captures those with high buying intent. To be precise, nearly 17,253 visits come from non-branded keywords, compared to 4,241 from branded keywords.

ElevenLabs’ Playbook for Winning Non-Branded Searches Organically

When people search for AI voice generation tools, they’re not always looking for a brand — they’re looking for solutions. For instance, a YouTuber hunting for voiceovers, a podcaster seeking AI narration, or a music producer searching for dubbing tools. ElevenLabs manages to capture all of these users by dominating non-branded, use-case-driven keyword searches.

#1 Creating Content Around Hyper-Specific Use Cases

ElevenLabs has created content that directly addresses niche user needs. For example, it features a sound effects page that enables users to create their own sound effects using text inputs.

For instance, I created one with the prompt: “Ultron saying ‘Concurate helps SaaS companies generate business with content.”

While this page features sample sound effects such as mechanical gear, terrifying braams, and footsteps on sand, it also offers dedicated sound effect pages where users can download high-quality, non-watermarked audio files for free. But, up to a specific limit.  Once they hit that cap, they’re prompted to sign up for more. 

For users, it feels like a valuable experience. For ElevenLabs, it’s a brilliant way to build trust and showcase the power of its voice technology.

As a result, these pages do more than drive downloads. They spark curiosity. The same users who come for a single sound effect often end up exploring the tool itself.

It’s a subtle but powerful move. Much like the sound effects pages, the feature pages pique users’ curiosity about the tool, encourage them to test it firsthand, and ultimately lead to them signing up.

Bottom-of-Funnel (BoFu) content is designed to convert high-intent prospects into paying customers. At this stage, buyers already know their problem and potential solutions and are evaluating which tool to choose.

💡 Example: A podcaster searching “best AI voice generation tools” isn’t browsing casually. They’re comparing tools and preparing to try or buy one. Strong BoFu content effectively compares options, highlights differentiators, addresses objections, and motivates readers to take action.

These articles are primarily product listicles that feature ElevenLabs at the top of a few other competitors. The company currently ranks on the first page for 113 “best” keywords, including:

The cumulative effect of this strategy has pushed the homepage (elevenlabs.io) to rank for numerous “best” keywords as well.

Fun Fact! ElevenLabs has 99 organic keywords containing the word “top” and 1,036 keywords with the word “best.”

ElevenLabs doesn’t just want to be on the list. It wants to be the list.
